In today’s society, trying to deal with everything that is thrown at you on a day-to-day basis, sometimes, is just too much. You need to stop, and take a little of your valuable time to consider your emotional health.

If you are truly happy and you can keep in touch with your thoughts and feelings, and put all that in a good perspective, you don’t know how lucky you are. You are a rare breed. Most of us don’t realize the urgency of always evaluating our emotional health.

When you get upset, angry and you stay that way for periods of time, it makes your body create too many stress hormones. You get totally out of balance. Irritation, depression and anxiety can take over. None of which are fun.

I speak from experience. I had to learn the hard way. One thing I have learned is to talk, talk, and talk some more. Don’t keep your thoughts and feelings inside. You will get so worn down and feel so bad. It takes a toll on you, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Like most things requiring maintenance, the longer you wait, the harder it is to make a correction.

Your emotions are so powerful they control the wellness of your mind and body. Do you remember how it feels when you have joy, laughter, even friendships that are good for you. If you know these things, just think about not having any of this. It’s hard to imagine it, but a lot of people in the world don’t even know what it is like. They are missing out on so much. They just exist, day to day, simply because they don’t know that resources are out there to help.

I used to be one of those people. I had good health, but a lot of family stress and my job created so much wear and tear on me mentally and then physically. I had become blind to my troubles. I had to take a really good look at what it was doing to me. I wanted my past well-being back. Life is good now.
