I work with many young men who work in construction who manifest excessive and irresponsible drinking. After a hard day at work, it seems to make a lot of sense to go to the local bar to have a few brews with one’s drinking pals. Commonly, however, it seems that the well-intentioned few shots and beers turns out to be a situation in which numerous drinks are ingested, much money is spent, and many hours are spent at the local saloon instead of spending time with their friends, wife or girlfriend, or with their family.

Excessive Drinking Can Lead to Marital, Relationship, and Friendship Issues

Is it all that surprising in these situations that more than a few these hard working men suffer from alcohol related financial difficulties even though they make a very good wage? How tough can it be for my hard working pals to realize that heavy and excessive drinking often results in friendship, relationship, and marital problems? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so hard for my hard working buddies to see?

Careless and Excessive Drinking Can Result in DUIs, Work Problems, More Than a Few Health Problems, and Various Mental Health Problems Such as Depression

Should it actually be amazing to anyone that my hard working pals could receive a DWI virtually any night or day of the week? Is anyone truthfully amazed when these construction workers begin to make mistakes at work due to their heavy and abusive drinking?

Does it in point of fact astound anyone to know that these construction workers eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as hangovers, alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, and sleep disturbances? Is it actually amazing that many of these hard working men are starting to experience a variety of mental health problems such as depression? Why can’t these construction workers “see” these alcohol abuse effects?

To a relatively great extent, my hard working buddies have gotten into a dysfunctional predicament that is leading them to a life of alcohol abuse or alcoholism. My wish is that my hard working buddies will eventually comprehend the fact that abusive and irresponsible drinking is the enemy and that they need to talk to their doctor or someone at the local drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility about their drinking circumstances.

Regarding the drinking problems manifested by my hard working friends, the bottom line is that honesty is required. Indeed, my hard working pals, not that much different than others who engage in heavy and irresponsible drinking, need to look within themselves and make a truthful appraisal of what irresponsible drinking is doing to their relationships, to their health, to their finances, to their mental health, and to their jobs. In short, my hard working buddies need to understand the alcohol side effects of their hazardous and excessive drinking.

There’s Room For Optimism If Those Who Engage in Hazardous and Excessive Drinking Can Become Persuaded to Get the Alcohol Treatment and Alcohol Detox They Require

My hard working friends need to get enthused and motivated about wanting to make a positive change in their lives. In other words, my hard working friends need to get motivated to go to their physician or to the local drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and determine whether or not they are essentially abusing alcohol or if they are alcohol addicted. Based on the information that is discovered, these hard working guys then need to get the alcohol detoxification and the alcohol rehab they need.

The fortunate news is that there’s a wide variety of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, treatment centers, rehab programs, and drug and alcohol treatment clinics where these construction workers can get professional treatment for their heavy and irresponsible drinking. And with some effort, it is feasible to find rehab programs, rehabilitation facilities, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, hospitals, and treatment centers that are fairly inexpensive.

Top-of-The-Line Alcohol Abuse or Alcoholism Help Can Begin With a Short and to the Point Phone Call

There were without a doubt times in the past when first-rate help for alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency was far less available and more expensive that it is now. Due to the vast increase of alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction in the past fifteen or twenty years, it can be noted, an alcohol addicted individual or an alcohol abuser often has few, if any, valid reasons for failing to address her or his abusive drinking.

In truth, to start the change process all it routinely takes is a phone call to one’s physician or to someone at the local drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Thereafter, long term sobriety requires commitment, follow through, and a truthful desire to change one’s toxic style of life.
